Cornerstone is currently serving as the Design-Builder and collaborating with Nvision Architecture and Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission Board of Directors on the renovation and addition of the shelter that focuses on sobriety and emergency housing, food, fellowship, job support, and rehabilitation. Construction is expected to be completed in 2023.

Cornerstone collaborated with RIM Design for the completion of APU’s newest residential facility, Segelhorst Hall, which opened for residents in 2007. The facility was designed to expand housing options available for upper-class and graduate students. Each hall consists of six fully furnished apartments, each with four private bedrooms, common living area, kitchen, and two full bathrooms.

Cornerstone collaborated with Nvision Architecture for this project involving the replacement of a dilapidated dormitory built during the 1960s and constitutes the second phase of an overhaul of AVTEC’s campus center. The first phase completed the new Alaska Culinary Academy on the north end of the same block in 2010.

The renovated facility will feature an additional 7,000 SF of space for donation processing, meeting areas, workshops; 15 additional beds; 6 new program offices; 3 new bedrooms; and 3 new intake rooms.

The building serves as an independent living facility for senior citizens and/or frail elderly. The building features multiple common areas, a landscaped courtyard, high quality finishes, internal telecom system, and an elevator for ease of resident access.
